elements

though water n earth r the most fertile of associations, imbalances abound that render their association a possible curse. the first may drown the second, depriving of its purpose. n the second may stay the first till it is dry, robbing it of its essence. or, a situation may be, where both r strong, n they spend lifetimes in ever-failing attempts at mutual domination. the cliff of rock, though chipped, remains mighty n high, n the crashing waves, though unrelenting, can only slip back in tired fascination. but absorbed in their never-ending game, they fail to see that indeed it is this, their association that emphasises their natures, drawing passionate waves out of runaway water, n giving an otherwise raw rock softness, purpose, n the wisdom of age.
